Merry Christmas!
And....we are starting to release a new writing series!
🎅🎄 Merry Christmas Everyone from Tornado Talk! 🎅🎄
This will be a slightly shorter newsletter this week with an update on a new series we are starting to release and of course tornado history for the week! Let’s get to it!
We have released two chapters of our writing series on the Frankfort, KY F4 Tornado - April 3, 1974! Each chapter is available to Patreon supporters. When all chapters are released, we will produce a Free Overview! Chapter 1 covers the beginning of the track through the community of Avenstoke. Chapter 2 takes us through Evergreen where sadly two people were killed.
Instead of doing a "This Week In Tornado History" video - I wanted to share from the archives! Tornado Talk produced several podcast episodes in 2016 and 2017 before turning into the hub of tornado history stories it is now! Back in 2016, we told the story of the significant tornado outbreak that occurred in North Texas on December 26, 2015. There was a total of 12 confirmed tornadoes, 3 of which were rated EF2 or greater. The most intense tornado occurred in the Sunnyvale-Garland-Rowlett area. It was rated an EF4. Our guests were: Our guests include NWS Meteorologist Mark Fox from the Fort Worth office, Mayor of Garland Texas Douglas Athas, Rowlett Emergency Management Specialist Ed Balderas and Storm Chaser Connor McCrorey. Enjoy this blast from the past with Episode 27! (We also have a summary about this event!)
